Understanding Perinatal Loss: Monica’s Journey to Supporting Others

Monica understands the profound grief of perinatal loss. Having experienced the heartbreak of losing a child, she has dedicated her time and resources to ensure other women feel supported and are not alone during this devastating time in their lives.

After her own tragic loss, Monica was encouraged to "move on and be strong." She reflects that this display of strength is not a badge of honor but an excuse to carry on and bury the pain.

Recognizing the need for genuine healing, she embarked on a personal journey that led her to publish "The Pregnancy Loss Guidebook" eight years later. What began as a personal pursuit towards healing evolved into a larger mission to share guidance and valuable information with other parents after loss.

Monica remembers her own search for connection, unsure of what she was looking for other than a bond with other women who had experienced the loss of a child. She realized that women experience many different types of loss and wanted to create a space where all these experiences could be addressed. "Women need a space where they can heal and process their pain, a place to release the burden they are carrying," she says.

This realization led to the creation of Remembering Cherubs. When a patient experiences loss, we connect them with Monica’s organization, which provides a care concierge service. This personalized, supportive service is designed for those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, offering a tailored list of resources based on geographical location and specific needs.

Together with the resource guide, our patients gain a community of love and support that is there for them as long as they need it. Monica’s goal is to promote healing, wholeness, and wellness for every person experiencing perinatal loss. Through her efforts, Monica ensures that no one has to face this journey alone, fostering a supportive community where women can find the comfort and understanding they deserve.
